Inovev forecasts 60,000 units per year of the new Skoda Superb
Skoda presented the new generation of its D-segment sedan, the Superb, which should be produced only in Europe (Kvasiny in the Czech Republic) and no longer in Europe and China like the previous generation, as Skoda (like other brands) is disappearing from the Chinese market.

The new Skoda Superb abandons the MQB platform in favor of the MQB Evo platform. It extends by 4 cm to reach 4.90 m, which is at the limit of the E-segment.

The new Skoda Superb competes with large D-segment sedans, such as the Citroën C5X or the Toyota Camry. But this category is in sharp decline among mainstream carmakers, as the Ford Mondeo, Opel Insignia, Renault Talisman and Mazda 6 have disappeared, and the Volkswagen Passat is no longer available as a sedan. As for the Peugeot 508, it is really a marginal player.

Korean carmakers abandoned this category a long time ago. Only Tesla with the Model 3 and German Premium carmakers are still present in this category, with the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class, but their sales have fallen significantly.

The new Skoda Superb is equipped with the following engines: the 1.5 TSI in MHEV (150 hp) or PHEV (204 hp) version, the 2.0 TSI (204 hp or 265 hp) and the 2.0 TDI diesel (150 hp or 193 hp). No battery electric version for this model.

Inovev forecasts 60,000 Superb sales per year until 2030, when the future generation launched that year should be available only in a battery electric version.
