- Chery plans to produce cars in Brazil from the end of 2013.
- The first model that it will assemble at its plant in São Paulo is the compact car Chery Celer (sold under the name Fulwin 2 in China).
- The Brazilian Chery factory required an investment of 2.5 billion yuan (313 million euros) and is designed to produce 150,000 vehicles per year. The entire production process will be carried out on site.
- Chery vehicles have been assembled from CKD in Brazil so far. Last year, Chery sold nearly 22,000 vehicles in the Brazilian market, which is one of its major export markets.
