Inovev expects 70 000 annual sales of the new Skoda Superb in Europe

The Czech brand Skoda, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group (the second largest manufacturer in 2014), unveiled the third generation of his sedan from segment E, the Superb. The 2015 model is characterized by a slight enlargement of its dimensions (length 4.86 m against 4,83m previously) which brings it closer to the 5 meter length.

Meanwhile, the new Superb (which will be available later on in an estate version) benefits from the MQB platform, common to the entire Volkswagen Group, which means it will benefit from a sixty kilo weight loss according to the manufacturer.

The new generation of the Superb is characterized by lowered lines reflecting some traits of the Octavia launched in 2013.
The
engines will be available in Euro 6 standards, namely petrol engines: 1.4 TSI 125 hp and 1.4 TSI 150 hp (with cylinder deactivation), 1.8 TSI 180 hp, 2.0 TSI 220 hp and 2.0 TSI of 280 hp. Skoda also will also offer a diesel 2.0 TDI engine with 140 hp and 170 hp. A 1.6 TDI 110 hp may also be added to the range.

Inovev expects 70 000 annual sales of the new Superb in Europe(on average), it will be produced at the Kvasiny plant (Czech Republic), one of the two major European Skoda plants. For example, the VW Passat, which has the same platforms and engines as the Superb, is designed for a production of 350 000 units per year (on average), five times the production of the Superb.
