With a production growth of 6.3% (246 000 units), the Tata Motors group and its subsidiary JLR (Jaguar - Land Rover) has become the largest producer of vehicles in the UK in the first half of the year. The Indian group benefited from the launch of the Discovery Sports (40 500 units), the Jaguar XE (10 500 units) and the good shape of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport (+ 16.2% to 80 000 units), offsetting the decline of the Evoque (-29.3% to 45 000 units). The Tata Motors group is just ahead of the Renault-Nissan group, which saw its production fall by 12.8% (245 500 units), following the drop in sales of the Nissan Note (-51% to 20 800 units) and Nissan Juke (-20.8% to 59 000 units). The BMW Group had a strong growth in this half (+ 29.6% to 95 600 units) thanks to the success of the Mini brand. GM Group also rose significantly (+ 24% reaching 78 800 units) thanks to its Vivaro utility. The production of the Opel / Vauxhall Astra should also increase in coming months.

By model, the Nissan Qashqai remains the most produced vehicle in the UK (+ 6.5% to 156 000 units), ahead of the Toyota Auris, which is declining slightly (-2.1% reaching 68 800 units). With a drop in production, the Nissan Juke is now the third most-produced vehicle in Britain.
