Top 100 Models by Production in the Mercosur Region in 2015

The ranking of the 100 most produced vehicles in the Mercosur region in 2015 (excluding heavy-weight vehicles) reveals that:

These 100 models represent 100% of Mercosur automobile production, which means that production in this area is very concentrated.

Of these 100 models, 70% are sedans, 14% are pickup trucks, 9% are SUVs, 5% are light utility vehicles and only 2% are MPVs. Pickup trucks therefore occupy a relatively important position in this region (on a global level, they do not exceed 8%).

Of these 100 models, 67% are segment B, 19% are segment C, 13% are segment A, and the other segments (D-E-F) represent only 1% of production. Mid- and top-range vehicles are practically absent from the Mercosur area. It is a region of almost exclusively low-end production.

The seven most produced vehicles in the Mercosur area in 2015 were: the Fiat Palio/Siena (223 327 vehicles), the Hyundai HB20 (173 573), the Volkswagen Golf (134 884), the Chevrolet Onix (125 931), the Ford Ka (123 838), the Volkswagen Fox (115 914) and the Fiat Strada (103 430), which works out to six sedans and one pickup truck. These vehicles were the only ones to be produced at a level of 100 000 each in 2015. Two belong to the FCA group and a further two to the VW group.
