Tata plans to produce 100,000 cars a year in Iran

The Indian group Tata Motors is the 17th world manufacturer in 2015  (PC + UV).
(while he was  at16th position in 2014 and 15th in 2013), behind Mitsubishi, Changan and Geely, but before Subaru and Great Wall.

Within the Tata Group, drop of volumes of Tata brand is the cause of this decline on the world market: Tata brand has  lost 400,000 vehicles since 2011, and from 900 000 to 500 000 vehicles in 2015. Fortunately, the UK subsidiary luxury cars Jaguar / Land Rover rose sharply during this period, from 300,000 in 2011 to 500,000 vehicles in 2015.

To boost sales of the brand Tata, the Indian group is negotiating with the Iranian manufacturer Iran Khodro in Iran to establish a JV to assemble some of its models from parts (CKD) from India. Tata would target production of 100,000 cars a year in Iran, with an activity that could start in 2018. This volume would represent between 5% and 6% of Iran's total production.
