Inovev forecasts 130,000 units per year of the new Chevrolet Traverse
- The US carmaker General-Motors unveiled the new generation of the SUV Traverse at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. The previous generation of Traverse dates back from 2008 and was restyled in 2013.
- The Traverse SUV is traditionally a vehicle designed to carry eight passengers. Due to its dimensions (nearly 5.20m long), it can be categorized as an E-segment vehicle. It is positioned, in the range of Chevrolet SUVs, above the Chevrolet Equinox (4.80m) and below the Chevrolet Suburban (5.70m).
- In the GM group, the Traverse shares its platform with the Buick Enclave (launched in 2007), GMC Acadia (renewed in 2016) and Cadillac XT5 (launched in 2016).
- The SUV Traverse is equipped with the following engines: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection of 194 hp and a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline of 310 hp.
- Inovev forecasts a volume of 130,000 produced annually at the Lansing site (USA), equivalent to the volume reached by the previous generation.
- In the E-segment SUV market, the Chevrolet Traverse is less sold than the traditional American SUVs, Ford Explorer and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Chevrolet model competes more with with models from Japanese (Honda and Toyota) and Korean (Hyundai and Kia) carmakers.
