The Most Produced C segment MPV in 2016

The most produced MPV segment C in the world in 2016 is the Volkswagen Touran which totaled 172,000 units. This model launched in 2015 is currently produced in two countries: Germany ,with 127,000 units  for world markets (excluding China) and China  with  45,000 units for the Chinese market. The model should be replaced in 2023. In the world ranking of C segment MPVs, VW Tourantook the lead over all its competitors including the pioneer Renault Scénic who invented the compact MPV concept in 1996.


The VW Touran is ahead of the previous generation of the Peugeot 3008 (123,000 units including 81,000 produced  in France and 42,000 in China), BMW Active Tourer (121,000 units  produced in Germany only), Ford C-Max (116,000 units produced only in Germany) , The Citroën C4 Picasso (111,000 units produced only in Spain), the Mercedes B-Class (105,000 units produced   only in Hungary) and the Renault Scénic (90,000 units produced  only in France). These figures include long wheelbase versions, such as BMW Gran Tourer, Ford Grand C-Max, Citroen C4 Grand Picasso and Renault Grand Scénic.


The C segment segment MPV  global market  reaches almost 1.25 million units in 2016. In Europe (29 countries), the most produced C segment MPVs in 2016 are VW Touran (127,000 units), BMW Active Tourer (121,000 units), Ford C-Max (116,000 units) and Citroën C4 Picasso (111,000 units).
