Nissan will stop the Note production at Sunderland from 2017

Nissan cessera de produire la Note à Sunderland à partir de 2017,

 

- Alors que le maintien des 100 000 unités produites de la Nissan Juke sur le site britannique de Sunderland n’est pas du tout garanti ( voir l’article « Nissan dévoile un nouveau SUV de segment B : le Kicks » ), le constructeur japonais a annoncé qu’il cesserait de produire la Note sur ce site à partir du printemps 2017.

- La Note (MPV de segment B) était fabriquée à Sunderland depuis 2006, date du lancement de la première génération. La seconde génération a été lancée en 2013 mais ses ventes ont malgré tout fortement décliné. De 107 000 unités produites dans cette usine en 2006, la production de la Note est progressivement tombée à 40 000 unités en 2016. Ce monospace compact a certainement pâti de la rude concurrence des SUV compacts qui se sont développés à partir des années 2010.

- La Note est également fabriquée au  Japon (pour les marchés asiatiques) et au Mexique (pour les marchés américains). Il est donc tout à fait envisageable que la Note continue à être vendue en Europe, cette fois en provenance du Mexique, comme c’est déjà le cas pour le Honda HRV qui se vend à peu près autant que la Nissan Note en Europe (25 000 unités et 28 000 unités respectivement, sur le cumul 9 mois 2016). La production de la Note au Mexique a elle-même reculé de 90 000 unités en 2014 à 70 000 en 2015 et 50 000 en 2016. Le transfert de la production européenne de la Note vers le Mexique pourrait permettre une optimisation de ce site.
