Genesis Announces Sales of 60,000 G70 Sedans
After the 2015 launch of the G90 sedan (F segment) and in 2016 of the G80 sedan (E segment), Genesis unveiled its third model, the G70 sedan (D segment), to complete the manufacturer's recently created range.

The G70, produced in South Korea like the G80 and G90, is targeting D-segment premium sedans, such as the Lexus IS or Infiniti Q50, as well as the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, Jaguar XE or Volvo S60 / V60.

The Hyundai-Kia group, which owns the luxury brand Genesis, has announced that it plans to sell 60,000 G70 sedans annually, ie 15,000 in South Korea and 45,000 abroad, mainly in the United States.

The Genesis G70 sedan, compared to the Hyundai and Kia segment D sedans, has its own specific body, a length of 4.69m (compared to 4.99m for the G80 and 5.21m for the G90).

The G70 has three engines: a 2.0 turbo gasoline  252hp, a V6 3.3 turbo gasoline 370 hp and a 2.2 diesel 202hp. With these three engines, customers have the choice between rear or all-wheel drive.

Next Genesis models will be the G70 coupe (2018), the new generation of the E-segment G80 (2019), the GV80 E segment SUV (2019), the restyled F segment G90 (2020) and the D segment GV70 (2020). Genesis C-segment sedans and SUVs will not be introduced before the next decade.
