Toyota targets 100,000 Lexus UX sales in Europe
- Toyota has launched the Lexus UX compact(C-segment) SUV in Europe. This model is destined to succeed the Lexus CT sedan whose origins date back to 2010.
- Introduced in February 2018, the Lexus UX (Urban Crossover) is the Lexus version of the very successful Toyota CHR ( 200 000 sales planned in 2018) with which it shares the same platform. But unlike the CHR, the Lexus UX is produced in Japan (Tahara) and not in Europe (Turkey).
- Like the CHR, the Lexus UX is available in a gasoline version and a hybrid version. The hybrid version will doubtless be the most popular, as for the CHR , where hybrid versions are already at 80% of sales, and could be even higher for the Lexus UX.
- Toyota is targeting 100,000 Lexus UX sales in Europe (including Russia, Ukraine and Turkey). Its hybrid technology should interest customers who are turning more and more from diesel to electrified alternative engines. The Lexus UX 250hp engine is a 2-liter petrol engine associated with an electric motor, together developing 178hp. The petrol version (UX 20) engine develops 171 hp.
- The dimensions of the Lexus UX are : length 4.50m ; width 1.84m ; height1.52 m.
