The most produced vehicle in the world in 2017
As for several decades, the most produced vehicle in the world in 2017 is also the most produced and the most sold in the United States, since it is the big Ford F Series pickup truck (1 073 000 units produced, against 1 012 000 in 2016) which actually includes two models of different sizes: the F Series itself or F150 (700 000 produced, against 695 000 in 2016) and the F-series Super Duty larger or F250 / 350/450 / 550/650/750 (373,000 produced, compared to 317,000 in 2016). The current Ford F Series dates from 2015, this is its thirteenth generation.

The Ford F Series is the best-selling model in the United States since 1978 and the best-selling model in the world since 1983. It is still manufactured in the Detroit area of Michigan. The Ford F Series has two major competitors: the Dodge Ram pickup (636,000 units produced in 2017, compared to 614,000 in 2016) and the Chevrolet Silverado (635,000 units produced in 2017, compared to 657,000 in 2016). In 2017, these two competitors occupy the 8th and 9th world places respectively. They have just been renewed both in 2018 and should therefore improve their position compared to 2017.

Behind the Ford F-Series, the world's most produced models are the Toyota Corolla and VW Golf sedans, ahead of the Toyota RAV4 and VW Tiguan SUVs. Of the 15 most-produced models in the world in 2017, there are 4 Toyota, 4 Volkswagen, 2 Honda, 2 Ford, 1 Chevrolet, 1 Dodge and 1 GM-Wuling.
