Small urban vehicles unveiled at Paris 2022 show
At the Paris Motor Show 2022, producers of small urban vehicles were strongly represented. We briefly introduce them to you:

Aixam: The current French market leader in this segment presented its range of very small vehicles with combustion engine and electric motor in Paris. BEVs are available from €17,190. They generally travel no faster than 45 km/h and have a range of about 75 to 100 km.  It is to be noted that two other producers of small urban vehicles didn’t participate this year : Ligier and Citroën (with the Ami model).

XEV: The Chinese manufacturer has come up with a concept involving battery swap stations. Unlike NIO, however, they are much smaller and can be swapped manually. It will probably be available for the car sharing market first, before being available for individual customers as well.

E GO: The German start-up from Aachen has sold all 1,500 vehicles produced of the old version and says there is already a long waiting list for the new version called e.waveX, which is expected to be launched in early 2023 for around €25,000.  It has a range of 125 km and can accommodate up to four people.

City Transformer: an Israeli start-up company with a small car, the CT-1, that will be able to adjust its wheelbase. Currently still in the concept stage, mass production is expected to begin as early as 2024. The car is expected to be able to travel up to 90 km/h and 180 km.  Its price will be around €16,000.

Mobilize: Renault has developed the Duo, which is derived from the Twizy, for its Mobilize advanced mobility program. It will be available on a subscription basis and have a range of 145 km. It can reach 45 km/h in a limited version and 85 km/h in a non-limited version.

Silence: the electric scooter manufacturer has developed a small vehicle, the S04, in which the battery can be removed and transported like a cart; the concept has already been tested with Silence scooters. The vehicle has a top speed of 90 km/h and a range of 149 km.

Micro: The Swiss pedal scooter company has adopted the design of the Isetta for the Microlino, with the iconic front door and two seats. It will be available for about €15,000. It is said to be able to travel up to 230 km and be 90 km/h fast.
