Paris Motorshow 2026: Leapmotor B03 X
- The Chinese carmaker Leapmotor, specializing in mid-range 100% electric vehicles, is a carmaker experiencing strong growth in China, having sold 300,482 vehicles in the first half of 2026 compared to 213,157 in the first half of 2025 (while the Chinese market is down 24.3% overall), and in Europe, having sold 56,005 vehicles in the first half of 2026 compared to 8,507 in the first half of 2025 (while the European market is up 6.1% overall).

- Leapmotor , of which Stellantis holds a small stake (approximately 20%), unveils its 100% electric B-segment compact SUV, the B03X, which is 4.27 m long, the same dimensions as a Peugeot e-2008.

- We know that Stellantis has decided to help Leapmotor sell its vehicles in Europe and other countries around the world, outside of China and Southeast Asia.

- It is therefore legitimate to ask whether the Leapmotor B03X will steal customers from the Peugeot e-2008. However, the Chinese model, equipped with a choice of a 39.8 kWh or 53 kWh LFP battery, cannot achieve 300 kilometers of range with the first battery and 400 km with the second battery, which could be a deterrent for some customers who would prefer to postpone their purchase to the Peugeot e-2008, admittedly a little more expensive but with a slightly greater range.

- The base price of the Leapmotor B03X starts at 23,400 euros, which is about 10,000 euros less than the Peugeot e-2008.
