The new Opel Corsa will use the Peugeot 208 platform

According to our information, the future Opel Corsa will use the Peugeot 208 platform. Reminder: the current Opel Corsa is based on the Fiat Punto platform, inherited from the former GM-Fiat agreement.
The launch of the future Corsa might be consequently postponed to 2017. The current model dates back to  2006 (restyled in 2010) and should have been replaced in 2013 or 2014. A second restyling could be applied to the Corsa in order to make customers wait until the new 2017 Corsa.

These PSA platforms (to be labeled EMP1?) might be produced in Opel plants (probably Eisenach and Zaragoza) with Opel’s business proposals that have not been specified yet.

The future Zafira might be produced in a PSA plant. The current Zafira will be manufactured until the end of its life in the Bochum plant which will be then closed. It would be a good deal for PSA which suffers from overcapacity.
