Thailand became the 10th automotive producer country in the world
- Thailand produced 2.45 million vehicles in 2012 (of which 0.96 million Passenger cars and 1.49 million pick-up), up by 68.3% compared to 2011 (which had however suffered from serious floods) and 49.2% compared to 2010, rising to 10th place as global producers of motor vehicles, ahead of France. Thailand has gradually become a global basis for the production of pick-up of small and medium tonnage.
- However TAPMA (Thai Autoparts Manufacturers Association) expects only a 2% growth for 2013 up to 2.5 million vehicles:
1.4 million slated for domestic sales and 1 million for exports.

- By brands, Toyota dominates production in Thailand, ahead of Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Nissan, Honda, Ford, Mazda and GM.
