Jiangling and Ford have inaugurated a new plant in Nanchang
- The Ford Group has two joint ventures in China, one in passenger cars with Changan, the other in commercial vehicles with Jiangling.
- Jiangling Motors Co. (JMC) is a Chinese company that has its own brand (JMC) as well as subsidiaries from Joint Ventures (JV) with the Ford group (for the Ford brand) and with the Changan group (for the Landwind brand). The vehicles produced by the JV are sometimes recognized by analysts as JMC vehicles and sometimes as Changan or Ford vehicles. It is important not to count these vehicles twice.
- JMC and Ford inaugurated on June the 20th a new assembly plant in Nanchang. With a production capacity of 300,000 units per year, the plant will assemble commercial vehicles under the Ford and Jiangling brands. It will raise the production capacity of Jiangling from 250 000 to 550 000 vehicles per year.
- Both partners have announced that they plan to build an engine plant, initially with a production capacity of 200,000 units per year in order to support the development of the production of commercial vehicles.
- Ford also said that two new vehicles sold under the Ford brand will be produced with Jiangling : a new commercial vehicle from the Transit family and an SUV.
