PSA and Toyota wants to produce 100 000 LCVs per year in Valenciennes
- PSA and Toyota have unveiled their new LCV in Geneva, a mid-range vehicle to be marketed in the first half of 2016 and produced at 100 000 units per year. For PSA, these models take over from the Peugeot Expert and Citroën Jumpy whose origins date back to 1995. For Toyota, the new model is the successor of the Proace launched in 2014.
- The Fiat Scudo will not be renewed because the Italian manufacturer has decided to withdraw it from the Sevelnord plant that manufactures these vehicles in Valenciennes. There will be a future Fiat Scudo in 2016, but it will now be derived from the Renault Trafic launched in 2014 as a result of the recent agreement signed between Fiat-Chrysler and Renault-Nissan. The future Scudo will thus be manufactured at Renault's Sandouville plant, alongside the Renault Trafic, Nissan NV300 and Opel Vivaro.
- The new LCVs of Citroën and Peugeot are in the PSA range between its compact LCV on one hand, namely the Berlingo and Partner and the upper range of LCVs, namely the Jumper and Boxer.
- Please note that the Jumper and Boxer will still be produced at the Fiat plant in Sevelsud, located at Val diSangro in Italy, since to date, Fiat and PSA have decided to continue their partnership on vehicles based on the Fiat Ducato .
- On the other hand, Fiat and PSA have decided to stop their partnership on entry level LCVs based on the Fiat Fiorino. The next generation of the Citroën Nemo and Peugeot Bipper will be designed in partnership with Toyota. They should be unveiled at the end of 2016 and could be produced in the Toyota-PSA plant in Kolin, Czech Republic.
