Top 100 Models by Production in China in 2015
The ranking of the top 100 most produced vehicles in China in 2015 (excluding heavy-weight vehicles) reveals that:
- These 100 models represent 63% Chinese automobile production, which means that production as a whole is not very concentrated.
- Of these 100 models, 58% are sedans, 26% are SUVs, 8% are minivans and 8% are MPVs.
- Minivans represent a greater share compared to other regions. Vans and utility vans do not figure in the top 100. It is also notable that no sports cars or pickup trucks figure in the top 100.
- Of these 100 models, 51% are segment C, 21% are segment D, 13% are segment B, 8% are segment A and 7% are segment E. No segment F car appears in the top 100. It can therefore be concluded that China produces primarily mid-range vehicles.
- The vehicles which do not appear in the top 100 are those which were produced at a rate below 65 000 in 2015.
- The seven most produced vehicles in China in 2015 were the GM-WulingHongguang (642 438 vehicles), the VW Lavida (381 962), the Great Wall Haval H6 (379 901), the Nissan Sylphy (328 540), the Baojun 730 (323 313), the Toyota Corolla (299 386) and the VW Santana (288 862), which is to say four sedans, one minivan, one SUV and one MPV. Among these are two models from the Volkswagen group and two models from the GM group, the two leaders in the Chinese market.
