Top 100 Models by Global Production in 2015

The global ranking of the 100 most produced vehicles in 2015 (excluding heavy-weight vehicles) reveals that:

These 100 models represent 42% of global automobile production.

Of these 100 models, 60% are sedans, 27% are SUVs, 8% are pickup trucks and only 3% are MPVs.

Vans and minivans do not appear in this ranking as none of them were among the 100 most produced vehicles in 2015. The same is true for sports cars.

Of these 100 models, 44% are segment C, 22% are segment B, 21% are segment D, 10% are segment E and only 3% are segment A. No segment F cars figure in the top 100.

The vehicles which do not appear in the top 100 are those produced at levels lower than 215 000 in 2015.

The seven most produced vehicles in the world in 2015 were the Toyota Corolla (1 026 150 vehicles), the Volkswagen Golf (892 182), the Ford Focus (814 262), the Nissan Rogue (704 623), the Volkswagen Jetta (695 675), the Toyota RAV4 (661 844) and the Honda CRV (659 678), which works out to four sedans and three SUVs. These vehicles were the only ones to be produced at a level of 650 000 each in 2015. Among these are four models by the world's biggest manufacturers, Toyota and Volkswagen.
