Renault unveils new generation Grand Scenic
- A few weeks after the presentation of the new generation Scenic, Renault unveiled the new generation Grand Scenic, which competes directly with the Citroën C4 Grand Picasso and Grand C-Max.
- Long of 4.63 m (23 cm more than the Scenic and 22 cm shorter than the Espace), the Grand Scenic uses the same CMF-C platform as the Scenic, Talisman and Espace, which are all manufactured in Douai (France). This platform is also used by Megane and Qajar (produced in Spain), Qashqai (produced in England), Koleos (produced in Korea) and X-Trail (produced in China, Korea and Japan). This platform is the mid-range platform of the Renault-Nissan group.
- The Grand Scenic has a wheelbase longer than Scenic by 7cm Scenic and a rear overhang longer by 16cm.
It can be equipped with five or seven seats, and is positioned into the Renault range between the Renault Scenic and Espace.

- The Grand Scenic, which represent nearly 50% of Scenic sales is equipped with a 1200 cc direct injection petrol engine (115hp and 130hp) and two diesel engines: 1500cc (110bhp) and 1600 cc (130hp and 160hp ).
- Inovev anticipates production of 150,000 Scenic and Grand Scenic, with sales similar for each model (75 000 units for each version).
- The Douai production capacity of 250,000 vehicles per year has been used so far to manufacture annually 150,000 Scenic and Grand Scenic, 50 Talisman and 50 000 Espace.
