Jaguar Land Rover will transfer the Jaguar XE from Solihull to Castle Bromwich.
- The British group Jaguar Land Rover, a subsidiary of the Indian group Tata Motors, operates currently three plants in Europe, all in Great Britain.
- The plant in Solihull has a production capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year. It currently produces the Land Rover Discovery, Range and Range Sport, and the Jaguar XE and F-Pace. It produced nearly 260 000 vehicles in 2015 and 300,000 units will probably be achieved in 2016 (with 3 shifts / day) thanks to the success of the Jaguar XE and F-Pace.
- The Castle Bromwich plant has a production capacity of 90,000 vehicles per year. It produces now the Jaguar XF, XJ and F-Type. It produced 65,000 vehicles in 2015 and 70,000 units will probably be achieved in 2016 .
- The Halewood plant has a production capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year. It currently produces the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Evoque. It produced 172,000 vehicles in 2015 and 200,000 units in 2016 will probably be achieved.
- To mitigate the load of the Solihull plant, the carmaker has decided to double the capacity of Castle Bromwich (to 180 000 units) in order to start from early 2017 the production of the Jaguar XE sedan. In this way the production of all Jaguar sedans will be concentrated on this site, while the Solihull site will be fully dedicated to the manufacture of SUVs.
