Argentine Automotive Market (PC+LCV) in 2016
The Argentine automotive market (PC + LCV) is on the rise again   in 2016 (+ 7%), after falling in 2014 and 2015. The Argentine market reached almost 675,000 sales in 2016, compared with 630,000 in 2015. This level remains well below that of 2013, which peaked at 940,000 units.

Most major manufacturers saw their sales increase in 2016, with notable exceptions such as  Volkswagen.  Volkswagen, however remains market leader  (110 00 units – 4.7%) outdistancing Renault-Nissan (104 000 units , +34,8%), GM-Chevrolet (97,000 units , + 19.7% ),   Ford (88,000 units + 1.9%), PSA (84,000 units   + 34.8%), FCA (76,000 units , + 11.8%) and Toyota (74,000 units , + 18.8%). These seven manufacturers account for 94% of the Argentine market. The other manufacturers are far behind, like Daimler (12,000 units  + 2.6%) or Honda (10,000 units , + 85.6%).

The top ten models in 2016 were the Toyota Hilux pick-up (31,000 units), Fiat Palio (27,000), VW Gol (26,000), Renault Clio (24,000), Toyota Etios (23,000) Chevrolet Classic (22 ,000) Ford Focus (21,000), Peugeot 208 (19,000) Ford Fiesta (18,000),  and VW Amarok pick-up (17,000) ie  essentially  segment B sedans and pick-ups.
