DS Begins the Complete Renewal of its Product Line with DS 7
- The DS brand, PSA Group’s premium market subsidiary unveiled its first SUV produced in Europe, the DS 7 Crossback ,at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This D segment vehicle, which is built on the EMP2 platform of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, will be produced on the French site of Mulhouse (for the European market) and also on the Shenzhen site (for the Asian market), alongside the more compact DS 6 ,marketed in China since 2014.
- The SUV DS 7 Crossback marks the beginning of the complete renewal of the European range of the DS brand. At the end of 2018 ,this model will be followed by the launch of the DS 3 and SUV DS 3 Crossback sedan (production on the French site of Poissy) which will replace the DS 3 launched in 2009. Then at the end of 2019, the brand will launch DS 4 and SUV DS 4 Crossback (production on the French site of Mulhouse) that will replace the DS 4 launched in 2010. In addition, at the beginning of 2019 the brand is expected to launch the DS 9 sedan (production on the French site of Mulhouse or Rennes) , replacing the DS 5 launched in 2011.
- In 2020, the European DS range will be completely renewed and will consist of 3 sedans (DS 3, DS 4 and DS 9) and 3 SUVs (DS 3 Crossback, DS 4 Crossback and DS 7 Crossback). According to Inovev, this renewal of the DS range will increase brand volume from 70,000 units produced in Europe in 2016 to 210,000 units in 2020, thus tripling product volume.
