Inovev forecasts 35,000 new Porsche 911s per year
- The new Porsche 911 was expected at the Paris Motor Show last October, but Porsche decided to unveil the eighth-generation 911 coupe (code 992) at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Admittedly, the US market is the biggest market for the 911, since it sold 9,000 units on this market in 2017, against 7,500 in Germany, 2,200 in Great Britain, 1,200 in Canada and 1200 in China out of a total of 33,761 units produced.
- The new model retains the appearance of the previous 911 with a slight modernization of the design and the technical characteristics.
- The Porsche 911 remains the premium coupe of the brand (pending a hypothetical replacement of the old Porsche 928), which sells three times more than the Cayman mid-range coupe despite the latter being at half the price.
- The new Porsche 911 is still equipped with the six-cylinder turbo 3.0-liter rear-displacement petrol engine, developing 444hp this time.
- The new model will be, as previously, manufactured on the Porsche site in Stuttgart (Germany), alongside the Boxster and Cayman and soon the Taycan. The Panamera, Cayenne and Macan are made in Leipzig.
- Inovev expects annual production of 35,000 of the new Porsche 911.
