The first Tesla Model 3 for Europe will be delivered early February 2019
- After the first deliveries to the US market (110,000 registrations made in the first 11 months of 2018), where it is now 11th in the sedan market, the Tesla Model 3 will be exported to European markets from early February 2019.
- The production of the Tesla Model 3 at the Fremont site in California has reached a new threshold with a volume of almost 30,000 units produced each month, which now makes it possible to cover both the American and European markets. The Chinese market should follow during the year.
- At this rate, there should be more than 300 000 Model 3 for the whole of 2018.
- By adding the Model S and Model X, the production of the Fremont site will then be close to saturation, this is why the automaker wants to accelerate the construction of its Chinese plant that will produce the models for the Chinese market.
- In 2018, Tesla sold nearly 30,000 (electric) cars in Europe, but only Model S and Model X. Given a less high-end positioning (price, dimensions), the Model 3 should allow Tesla to double these sales in Europe in 2019, from 30,000 to 60,000 units (30,000 Model 3). Tesla's first European markets in 2018 are Norway, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Germany.
