Honda sold 5.35 million vehicles worldwide in 2018
The Honda group (Honda, Acura) sold 5.35 million units (PC+LCV) in 2018, an increase of +2.3% compared to 2017. The third largest Japanese manufacturer remains in seventh place worldwide, behind Hyundai-Kia and Ford, but ahead of Fiat-Chrysler and PSA. These figures do not include the production of two-wheelers, where Honda remains a major player.

The Honda group's worldwide sales in 2018 can be broken down as follows:

1. The United States is its largest market, with 1.605 million vehicles, or 30% of its worldwide sales.
2. China is its second largest market, with 1.475 million vehicles, or 28% of its global sales.
3. Japan is its third largest market, with 747,000 vehicles, or 14% of its worldwide sales.
4. Europe is its fourth largest market, with 135,000 vehicles, or 3% of its worldwide sales.

These four markets account for 75% of the Honda group's worldwide sales in 2018, which break down into 5.16 million vehicles under the Honda brand and 190,000 vehicles under the Acura brand. It should be noted that Acura -created in 1986- sales are lower than its competitors Lexus or Infiniti which were created in 1989.

Honda's best-selling models in 2018 are the Civic (750,000 units), CRV (710,000 units), HRV (620,000 units) and Accord (495,000 units).
