The Volkswagen 2020-2023 product plan for Europe
The Volkswagen brand's 2020-2023 product plan confirms the gradual introduction of electric cars into the manufacturer's range, since an electrically  motorized model ,based on the new MEB platform, will be launched each year between 2020 and 2023. The "ID 3" C-segment sedan will be launched in 2020, the "ID 4" D-segment SUV in 2021, the "ID 1"  A-segment sedan in 2022 and the "ID 2"  B-segment sedan in 2023. In the VW range, the ID 3 will be positioned at the Golf level, the ID 4 at the Tiguan level, the ID 1 at the Up level (which it will replace) and the ID 2 at the Polo level.

The ID Buzz will be added  to these four models, which will be positioned on the same level as the Kombi/Multivan and Transporter as of  2022 . In all, five mass-market electric models will be manufactured at the German sites in Zwickau, Hanover and Emden. For the time being, the product plan for electric Volkswagens for China is still unknown.

With regard to future launches of internal combustion engine cars, we can mention the new generation of the Golf marketed in 2020 (which will now have to compete with the ID 3), the new generation of the Caddy utility vehicle in 2020, which will not be  available in an electric version until 2024 and the new generation of the Passat in 2022 (which will be manufactured in Turkey). It should be noted that the Touran minivan will give way to the Variosport crossover in 2021. The Sharan MPV should fade out without replacement. Finally, the Arteon, Polo and Tiguan should be restyled in 2021. The T-Roc and T-Cross are too recent to be restyled  yet. The Polo is scheduled to be replaced in 2024. The Arteon will not be replaced.
