Aston-Martin unveiled its first SUV
The British luxury firm Aston-Martin has unveiled its first SUV, named DBX. Until now, the firm of Gaydon only offered coupes and cabriolets, and a sedan, but never a SUV. It has therefore followed the strategy of its competitors such as Porsche, Maserati or Lamborghini, offering a luxury SUV, as this body sales continue to increase worldwide and represent 40% of the global market in 2019.

Aston-Martin has built a plant, especially for this new model, with a production capacity of 10,000 vehicles a year in Saint Athan, Wales (United Kingdom). Aston-Martin plans to sell 10,000 units of the DBX each year, which will be added to the 4,000 coupes and cabriolets produced annually in Gaydon.

The new Aston-Martin SUV (which is the first 5-seat model of the brand) will be marketed in Europe, North America and China, but all models will come out of the Saint Athan assembly lines.

Its competitors are the Porsche Cayenne, Maserati Levante, Lamborghini Urus, and to some extent the Bentley Bentayga.

5.04 m length, 2.00 m wide and 1.68m high, the DBX is equipped with a gasoline twin turbo V8 4-liter engine of 550ch developed by Mercedes AMG. The weight of DBX is 2,245 kg.
