The 20 best-selling models in USA by model (9 months 2020)
In a US market down 17.7% over the first 9 months of 2020 (compared to the same period of 2019), the Ford F-Series pickup remains the best-selling model (589,034 units), as for over thirty years. The ranking of the 20 best selling models has not changed much compared to 2019, with the Chevrolet Silverado and Dodge Ram pickups in second and third place. The second place held by the Dodge Ram lasted only a few months. Behind these three pick-ups which alone represent 13.5% of the US market in 2020, we find two SUVs, the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV, which achieve better sales than the best-selling American brand SUVs., like Chevrolet, Ford or Dodge.

The same phenomenon is found with the Toyota Camry and Honda Civic sedans, which occupy the sixth and seventh places and score better than the best-selling American brand sedans. No American sedan is in the Top 20. American brands have abandoned the sedan market in favour of Japanese and Korean brands.

The American brand SUVs are however doing quite well, occupying five places in the Top 20, starting from eighth place, like the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler and Ford Escape.
-The GM group remains the leader of the US market, with a 17% market share, ahead of the Ford (14%) and Toyota (14%), FCA (13%), Honda (9%), Hyundai- Kia (9%) and Renault-Nissan (7%).
