The Mini is the most produced vehicle in the UK in 2022
The Nissan Qashqai (C-segment SUV) launched in 2007 was for several years (between 2010 and 2019) the most produced vehicle in UK, before collapsing in 2020. The production volume of this model which had reached 300,000 units in 2012 and in 2016 fell to 150,000 units in 2020, a drop of 50%. It is certain that the postponement of its replacement to 2021 played an important role in this sales drop, but also the increasing competition in this segment (particularly Korean) and the launch of a Renault model (Kadjar) very close to Qashqai played against the Nissan SUV.

In 2020, 2021 and 2022, it is therefore the Mini (B-segment saloon) which has once again become the most produced car in UK, with a volume of 180,000 units per year, a volume which has remained stable for a decade. It is to remind that the Mini had already been the most produced car in UK before the launch of the Nissan Qashqai, especially between 2005 and 2009.

The Toyota Corolla (C-segment sedan) is in third place, ahead of the Opel Vivaro (mid-range LUV) and the Nissan Juke (B-segment SUV) which also fails (like the Nissan Qashqai) to come back to its scores recorded by the first generation. But it is true that the Renault Captur has taken a good part of its customer.

Behind these five models, UK produces a large number of Premium models, such as Land Rovers, Jaguars, Bentleys, Rolls-Royces, Aston-Martins, McLarens, Lotuses, etc. Also to note that Honda production ceased last year in Great Britain.
