Volkswagen Group sold 9.03 million vehicles in 2024
The Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Cupra, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini) sold 9.03 million vehicles worldwide in 2024, representing a decrease of 2.3% compared to 2023. The share of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in its deliveries did not exceed 8.25% (744,800 units, down 3.4% compared to 2023), attributable to the end of subsidies in Germany…it is still a long road before the carmaker may become battery electric in 2030 or even 2035. The six best-selling BEVs in 2024 were the Volkswagen ID4/ID5 (182,000 units), Volkswagen ID3 (149,100 units), Audi Q4 E- Tron (107,700 units), Skoda Enyaq (79 500 units), Cupra Born (41,800 units) and Volkswagen ID7 (40,100 units). It should be noted that the Volkswagen group also sold 270,000 plug-in hybrid vehicles in 2024, up 5% compared to 2023.

The group's sales growth in North America (+6%) and South America (+15%) was offset by stable deliveries in Europe (-0.1%) and a sharp decline in China (-10%) where the Volkswagen group only occupies 10% of the market in 2024 compared to 14% in 2021 and 19% in 2019.

By brand, Volkswagen sold 5,205,200 vehicles last year (-1.3% compared to 2023), Audi sold 1,671,200 (-11.8% compared to 2023), Skoda 926,600 (+6.9% compared to 2023), Seat- Cupra 558,200 (+7.5% compared to 2023), Porsche 310,700 (-3.0% compared to 2023), Lamborghini 10,700 (+5.7% compared to 2023) and Bentley 10,600 (-21.5% compared to 2023). The Traton heavy-duty branch sold 334,200 vehicles (-1.2% compared to 2023). Globally, the Volkswagen Group remains in second place behind the Toyota Group and ahead of Hyundai-Kia.
