The Toyota Yaris Cross remains the most produced car in France in 2025
Based on production figures for the first 11 months of 2025, Inovev estimated the production volume of each model worldwide for the entire year. Here is the Top 20 by model (passenger cars + light utility vehicles) for France, which produced a total of 1.5 million vehicles last year, a slight increase compared to 2024.

The Toyota Yaris Cross (a B-segment SUV based on the Yaris) remains the most produced car in France for the fourth consecutive year. Unlike the Toyota Yaris (a B-segment hatchback), which is produced at two different plants in Europe (France and the Czech Republic), the Toyota Yaris Cross is produced at a single European plant, the French plant in Onnaing, in the Hauts-de-France region. Last year, 212,539 units of this model were produced (official figures from Toyota).

The Toyota Yaris Cross leads the Peugeot 3008 (C-segment SUV), which retains second place with 160,243 units in 2025 (official figures). Three Renault light utility vehicles follow: the Kangoo, Trafic, and Master. It's worth noting that light utility vehicle production has represented around 40% of total car production in France for several years, which explains the strong performance of the three Renault LUVs, market leaders in their respective segments.

While the Renault Clio (B-segment hatchback) is projected to be the best-selling car in France in 2025, it doesn't appear in the top 20 French-produced cars because it's produced in Turkey. However, the Renault 5 (B-segment hatchback) is projected to be the sixth most produced car in France in 2025 because it's produced exclusively in France. The Renault 5 was also the best-selling battery electric car in France in 2025. The Toyota Yaris is seventh, ahead of the Opel Mokka, Peugeot 308, and Peugeot 5008.
