2018 Geneva MotorShow - Skoda
Skoda Vision X Concept
- Skoda presents the Vision X Concept that prefigures their B-segment SUV and completes the SUV range, which already includes the Kodiaq(D-segment) and Karoq (C-segment)
- The Vision X Concept combines three types of energies: gasoline, natural gas and electricity.
- The concept is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that can run on compressed natural gas (CNG), which pulls the front end while an electric motor propels the rear axle.
- The platform houses a gas tank, two gas cylinders and two 48V batteries.
- It is not certain that this technology will be extended to the next SUV or to other Skoda models in the near future.
- Nevertheless, it shows the manufacturer's strategy based on both hybrid and 100% electric vehicles .In 2019 Skoda will present a hybrid plug-in version of the Superb, and in 2020 a 100% electric model.
