Inovev forecasts 75,000 new Skoda Kamiq per year
Skoda continues to enhance  its SUV range with the launch of the Kamiq (B segment), which follows the Kodiaq (D segment) launched in 2016 and the Karoq (C segment) launched in 2017.

The Kamiq is built on  the MQB-A0 platform shared with the Skoda Fabia, Skoda Scala, Seat Ibiza, Seat Arona, VW Polo and VW T-Cross. It has the same wheelbase as the Skoda Scala.

With its 4.25m length, it is located halfway between Seat Arona (4.14m) and Skoda Scala (4.36m). The Kamiq is as long as a VW T-Roc, but longer than a Renault Captur (+13cm) or a Peugeot 2008 (+9cm).

The Kamiq will compete with the Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Mokka, Opel Crossland, Fiat 500X, Ford Ecosport, Nissan Juke and of course the Volkswagen Group's B-segment SUVs, such as the VW T-Cross and Seat Arona.

The Kamiq will be the 19th SUV of the Volkswagen group, after the recent Seat Tarraco (D segment). The Volkswagen group's entry into this very popular category is late but broad.

The engines of the Kamiq are as follows: 1.0 TSI gasoline engines of 95 hp and 115 hp, 1.5 TSI of 150 hp, 1.6 TDI diesel engine of 115 hp. Kamiq is produced at the Mlada Boleslav site in the Czech Republic, alongside Skoda Fabia and Skoda Scala.

Inovev expects sales volume of 75,000 units per year of the new Skoda Kamiq.
