Stellantis Group has sold 5.8 million vehicles in 2022
The Stellantis Group sold 5.8 million vehicles last year compared to 6.14 million in 2021a decline of 5.5%. The carmaker fell from fifth to sixth place worldwide, behind the GM Group (which it had overtaken in 2021). Thus, the fourth place worldwide, which Stellantis had targeted from the beginning, is far away.
 
Stellantis' sales in Europe fell by 8%, which impacted the overall figure, as Europe accounts for almost half of the carmaker's sales. Despite this negative result, Stellantis managed to establish the Peugeot 208 as a top seller in Europe, becoming the largest seller of light utility vehicles in Europe (with a market share of 30.6% compared to a market share of 18.2% for passenger cars), ahead of Renault-Nissan and Ford.
 
In addition, the Stellantis Group announced record profits for 2022. And its BEV sales reached 288,000 vehicles last year.
 
Stellantis Group's global sales in 2022 are as follows:
§ Europe is its largest market with 2.6 million vehicles, representing 45% of its global sales.
§ The U.S. remains its second largest market with 1.6 million vehicles, or 28% of its global sales.
§ South America remains its third largest market with 820,000 vehicles or 14% of its global sales.
§ China accounts for only 2% of its global sales with 130,000 vehicles.
 
These four markets account for 89% of Stellantis Group's global sales in 2022.
