- The life cycle of European models being seven years on average, Skoda (a subsidiary of the Volkswagen group) is replacing in 2023 its D-segment SUV, the Kodiaq, launched in 2016, with a new generation which is extended by 6 centimeters, the length of the new model increasing to 4.76 m, with an unchanged wheelbase of 2.79 m. The width and height barely change (1.86 m and 1.66 m respectively). The Kodiaq will still have a seat seven passengers in three rows. The Kodiaq is located in the range of SUVs with thermal engines from the Czech carmaker above the Karoq (segment C) and Kamiq (segment B).

- The new Skoda Kodiaq is only marketed with thermal engines, the battery electric version being marketed with the Enyaq (D segment SUV). The range of petrol engines consists of the 150 hp 1.5 TSI with 48V mild hybridization (MHEV) and the 204 hp 2.0 TSI with all-wheel drive. The range of diesel engines is still existing and consists of the 2.0 TDI of 150 hp or 193 hp equipped with all-wheel drive. The Kodiaq also receives for the first time a plug-in hybrid version (PHEV) based on the 150 hp 1.5 TSI combined with a 54 hp electric motor.
- It will be produced at the Czech Kvasiny site as for the previous generation, at an average rate of 75,000 units per year. The new Kodiaq will compete with the Renault Espace, Peugeot 5008 and Seat Tarraco.

Inovev forecasts 165,000 units per year of the new Peugeot 3008
- Peugeot launched the first generation of the 3008 SUV in 2008. At the time it was the brand's first SUV derived from the 308 sedan with a length which did not exceed 4.36 m. This model produced at the Sochaux site (France) was available in gasoline and diesel versions, as well as a diesel hybrid (HEV).
- The second generation of the Peugeot 3008 was launched in 2016. It was available in petrol and diesel versions, as well as a plug-in petrol hybrid (PHEV). On the latest models sold in 2023, this generation of the Peugeot 3008 could be also available in a 48V mild-hybrid version (MHEV). This model, which is longer by 9 centimeters to reach 4.45 m, was still produced on the Sochaux site (France).
- The third generation of the Peugeot 3008 was presented in September 2023, but not at the IAA Munich show where the Sochaux brand was absent.
- This model inaugurates the new STLA Medium platform. This new generation, which has lengthened again by 9 centimeters to reach 4.54 m, is still produced on the Sochaux site (France) but its engines are evolving: the choice is a 48V mild-hybrid (MHEV) based on a 1.2 gasoline engine with 136 hp, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) based on a 1.6 petrol engine (195 hp) or an electric motor (BEV) of 230 hp allowing a range of 525 km. Inovev is counting on 165,000 sales per year of the new Peugeot 3008, all engines combined, while the previous model saw its sales declining from 250,000 units in 2019 to 150,000 in 2021.

Inovev forecasts 65,000 units per year of the new Mini Countryman
- The British brand Mini (a subsidiary of the BMW group) launched its first Countryman in 2010. At that time it was the SUV version of the Mini 5 door which was also the first 5-door version of the Mini. This first 4.10 m long model was produced in Graz in Austria at Magna Steyr due to insufficient capacity in Oxford, the production site for the three-door Mini.
- The second generation of the Countryman was launched in 2017. This time produced in Born in the Netherlands by the carmaker Nedcar, this new Countryman was lengthened by 19 centimeters to reach 4.29 m.
- The third generation of the Countryman is launched this year and presented at the Munich Motor Show in September. It extends by another 24 centimeters to reach 4.43 m which is no longer “mini” at all…
- Its production site has changed again. The new Countryman is in fact produced at the BMW site in Leipzig in Germany, alongside the Series 1 and Series 2 Active Tourer with which it shares platform (UKL) and engines (1.5 petrol and diesel).
- However, the new Countryman will be the first to be equipped with a 100% electric engine in addition to gasoline and diesel engines, like the three-door Mini Cooper which was presented a few weeks ago, while the Series 1 and Series 2 Active Tourer do not have them.
- The previous Countryman saw its production volume fall from 90,000 units in 2017 to 60,000 units in 2022, and Inovev expects a production volume of 65,000 units per year for the new Countryman from 2024.
Inovev forecasts 50,000 units per year of the new Audi Q6 E-Tron SUV

Inovev forecasts 50,000 units per year of the new Audi Q6 E-Tron SUV
- Audi unveiled its battery electric Q6 E-Tron SUV at the 2023 Munich Motor Show, which will be located in the carmaker’s BEV range between the Q4 E-Tron and the Q8 E-Tron.
- The Audi BEV range is therefore being built rapidly, in order to better position itself on the market against BMW and Mercedes, its two main competitors. It is, however, regrettable that the Audi brand has not yet invested in the category of sedans, apart from the E-Tron GT which is located at the very top of the range (E-segment).
- BMW thus has its Mini Cooper, i4, i5 and i7 sedans while Mercedes has its EQE, EQS and Smart. We are therefore impatiently awaiting the launch of the battery electric Audi A2, A4, A6 and A8 as the carmaker announced that the even numbers allocated to its models would be dedicated to battery electric vehicles.
- The new Audi Q6 E-Tron SUV is the first model of the brand to be based on the PPE platform (Premium Platform Electric) which will be used by other models of the Volkswagen group such as the future Porsche Macan.
- In 2022, Audi produced 109,353 electric vehicles including 57,301 Q4 E-Tron, 39,986 Q8 E-Tron and 12,066 E-Tron GT according to Inovev, which represents just 7% of its global production. Inovev is forecasting 50,000 units per year of the new Q6 E-Tron which will be produced at the German plant of Ingolstadt.
