Inovev expects annual sales of 110 000 to 120 000 for the T-Roc
In order to strengthen its presence in the compact SUV category, the Volkswagen brand unveils a SUV smaller than its Tiguan (segment C), TiguanAllspace (D segment) and Touareg (E segment). The new model, called T-Roc, retains the T-letter attributed to all the SUV's and uses the MQB-B platform shared with the Audi A3 (2012), Audi TT (2015), Audi Q2 (2016), Skoda Octavia (2012), Skoda Superb (2015), Skoda Kodiaq (2016), Skoda Karoq (2017), VW Golf (2012), VW Passat (2014), VW Touran (2015), VW Tiguan (2016), VW TiguanAllspace (2017) and  VW Arteon (2017).

The T-Roc, because of its dimensions, its engines and its price, is located between B and C segments. It is based on the Golf but is smaller than the Tiguan (4.49m) and larger as the future T-Cross based on the Polo. It is actually close to an Audi Q2 (4.23m). It will therefore compete with the biggest SUVs in B segment and the smallest SUVs in C segment ...

The VW T-Roc will be manufactured on the Volkswagen site in Palmela (Portugal) which has a maximum capacity of 175,000 vehicles per year. The T-Roc will take advantage of the stop of the Scirocco coupe to use  the site and saturate its capacity . Inovev expects a volume of 110,000 to 120,000 annual sales of the T-Roc, which fits perfectly within the framework of the plant's 175,000 units  capacity. The T-Roc is equipped with three gasoline engines (1.0 TSI 115hp, 1.5 TSI 150hp, 2.0 TSI 190hp) and three diesel engines (1.6 TDI of 115hp, 2.0 TDI of 150hp and 2.0 TDI of 190hp).
