- The Toyota Yaris is again, as in 2016, the most produced car in France in 2017, since over the 12 months of the year, 233,652 units - a decrease of 1.8% compared to 2016 - have rolled off the line at the Onnaing factory (Hauts de France) where the production of this model for the European market is concentrated.
- The Toyota Yaris is ahead of the Peugeot 3008 (212,487 units) and Peugeot 2008 (198,247 units) which benefited from the European craze for SUVs. The Peugeot 3008 has achieved a spectacular breakthrough with a 162% increase in 2017.
- On the other hand, the Peugeot 308 decreased substantially in 2017 (-19.3%), ending the year in fourth place, with a production volume of 175,847 units.
- It is this sharp decline of the Peugeot 308 that has allowed the Toyota Yaris to remain in first place in 2017, as the production volume of the Yaris has been stable over the last four years. The year 2018 will however be more difficult for the Yaris because the sales dynamics of the Peugeot 3008 suggest that it could well occupy the first place this year.
- No Renault and Citroën brand models are in the top 4, as the Renault Clio is mainly manufactured in Turkey and the Citroën C3 is mainly manufactured in Slovakia. The Peugeot 208 as well is today mainly manufactured in Slovakia.
