Inovev forecasts production volume of 1,500 units per year of the new Rolls-Royce Cullinan
- Rolls-Royce (subsidiary of the BMW group) has unveiled its first SUV. This is the Cullinan that shares its platform with the future BMW X7 to be marketed at the end of the year.
- This model, which responds to a very strong global demand for SUVs, is launched as the most luxurious and expensive of all SUVs, since it will be on sale at a price of around 250,000 euros, while the Bentley Bentayga is at 215,000 euros and the Lamborghini Urus 205,000 euros.
- The Cullinan, which completes the Rolls-Royce range of up to now Phantom limousine, Ghost sedan, Wraith coupe and Dawn cabriolet, measures 5.34m in length, 40cm less than the Phantom but 20cm more than a Bentley Bentayga . The Cullinan is 2.16m wide and 1.84m high, so as much as a Range Rover and 9cm longer than a Bentley Bentayga. The manufacturer consciously avoided proposing an elephant-sized SUV ,to allow the vehicle to remain remains manageable in all circumstances. Its weight is nonetheless is slightly over 2.5 tons.
- The Cullinan is equipped with the 6.75 liter gasoline twin-turbo engine (developing 571hp).used on the other Rolls-Royce models This new SUV will be produced in Goodwood's Rolls-Royce factory. Inovev expects production volume of 1,500 units per year, i.e. nearly half of the brand's current production.
