The Polish market is down 19.6% in 2021 compared to 2019
The Polish automotive market (passenger cars) remained at a very low level in 2021 compared to 2019 (-19.6%), a level which remains very slightly higher than that of 2020 (+4.3%). In total, Poland registered 446,647 passenger cars last year, compared to 428,347 in 2020 and 555,598 in 2019. This is the lowest figure recorded since 2016, after that of 2020.

The reasons given for this very low level of registrations in 2021 are announced by the manufacturers as relating to the deficient supply of the semiconductors they need. But it could be that the sharp increase in the average price of cars is holding back purchases and encouraging potential customers to keep their vehicles longer.

The ranking by brand shows that the Toyota brand remains leader of the Polish market, with 74,513 units, ahead of Skoda (45,070 units), Volkswagen (34,421 units) and Kia (32,323 units).

By groups, Volkswagen remains the leader of the Polish market in 2021 (110,386 units), ahead of Toyota (80,667 units), Hyundai-Kia (59,164 units), Stellantis (47,507 units) and Renault-Nissan (46,512 units).

The best-selling models in 2021 were the Toyota Corolla (22,096 units), Toyota Yaris (14,482 units), Skoda Octavia (13,116 units), Dacia Duster (12,706 units) and Toyota RAV4 (10 993 units).

Poland is the only European country where the Toyota brand places three of its models in the top five market sales in 2021.
