Chinese automakers in 2021
In 2021, Chinese automakers manufactured nearly 25 million light vehicles (PC+LUV) in 2021 globally, 95% of them in China. Of these 25 million, the 12 largest Chinese manufacturers alone produced 24 million light vehicles. Among these 12 manufacturers, many produce foreign vehicles in J.V. (nearly 12 million units in total). Only Geely, Great Wall, BYD and JAC do not have J.V. and only produce their own vehicles.

1. SAIC is the leading Chinese manufacturer, with 5.29 million vehicles produced, including 4.12 million foreign vehicles.
2. FAW is the second Chinese manufacturer, with 3.94 million vehicles produced, including 3.69 million foreign vehicles.
3. Dongfeng is the third Chinese manufacturer, with 3.28 million vehicles produced, including 2.23 million foreign vehicles.
4. Geely is the fourth Chinese manufacturer, with 2.12 million vehicles produced, including 0 million foreign vehicles.
5. Changan is the fifth Chinese manufacturer, with 2.03 million vehicles produced, including 0.55 million foreign vehicles.
6. Beijing is the sixth Chinese manufacturer, with 1.79 million vehicles produced, including 1.01 million foreign vehicles.
7. Great Wall is the seventh Chinese manufacturer, with 1.32 million vehicles produced, including 0 million foreign vehicles.
8. GAC is the eighth Chinese manufacturer, with 1.18 million vehicles produced, including 0.75 million foreign vehicles.
9. Chery is the ninth Chinese manufacturer, with 0.99 million vehicles produced, including 0.53 million foreign vehicles.
10. Brilliance is the tenth Chinese manufacturer, with 0.93 million vehicles produced, including 0.70 million foreign vehicles.
