Inovev plans 10,000 units of the new Maserati Grecale SUV
The Maserati brand, now integrated into the Stellantis group, within which it represents the most luxurious brand, has unveiled its new D-segment SUV which sits in the manufacturer's range below the E-segment Levante SUV. the Levante SUV shares its platform with the Ghibli sedan, the new Grecale SUV shares its platform (known as Giorgio) with that of the Alfa-Roméo Stelvio SUV and the Alfa-Roméo Giulia sedan which belong to segment D. The Maserati Grecale SUV is therefore today the only model of the brand to be part of the D segment and therefore represents the "entry level" model of the brand. This model theoretically competes with D-segment Premium SUVs such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3/X4, Mercedes GLC, Porsche Macan and Volvo XC60, but with its marked sporty character and elite prices, the Maserati Grecale is above all opposed at the Porsche Macan.

4.85m long, 1.98m wide and 1.67m high, the Maserati Grecale features a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine developing 325hp, with a 48-volt battery that places it in the category of MHEV (mild hybrid). A more powerful engine is available, it is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 developing 523 hp. A 100% electric version is scheduled for 2023.

The Grecale SUV will be produced at the Italian Cassino site, alongside the Alfa-Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, at the rate of 10,000 units per year according to Inovev. Last year, the Giulia and Stelvio were produced at 39,889 units respectively, including 13,887 Giulia and 26,002 Stelvio. Prices for the Grecale should be between 75,000 and 115,000 euros depending on the version.
