Japan purchased 1 million FHEVs over 10 months 2023
Over the first 10 months of 2023, the world purchased more than 3.5 million full-hybrid passenger cars (FHEV), including 2.3 million in China, Europe and the United States alone. But the world's largest market for FHEVs is Japan, which has purchased 1 million FHEVs, mainly Toyotas and Lexus.
 
Regarding full-hybrid passenger cars (FHEV), China purchased 600 000 over the first 10 months of 2023, on par with the first 10 months of 2022 and 400 000 over the 10 first months of 2021. FHEVs represent 3% of the Chinese passenger car market this year compared to 3.2% in 2022 and 2.5% in 2021.
 
Europe (EU + UK + Norway + Switzerland) purchased 800 000 FHEVs over the first 10 months of 2023, compared to 700 000 over the first 10 months of 2022 and 500 000 over the first 10 months of 2022. First 10 months of 2021. We have observed weak growth in FHEV sales in this region since 2022. FHEVs represent 7.5% of the European passenger car market this year compared to 7.3% in 2022 and 5.3% in 2021.
 
The United States, for its part, purchased 950 000 FHEVs over the first 10 months of 2023, compared to 650 000 over the first 10 months of 2022 and 650 000 over the first 10 months of 2021. FHEVs represent 7.5% of the US market this year compared to 5.4% in 2022 and 5.3% in 2021.
