PSA sold 1.46 million vehicles in the first half of 2013

PSA Peugeot Citroën sold 1,461,000 vehicles worldwide in the first half of the year (- 9.8% compared to the first half of 2012), of which 808,000 Peugeot (- 15.4%) and 653 000 Citroen (- 1 , 7%).

The manufacturer said that its sales of CKD in Iran (143,000 in 2012) were suspended in the first quarter of 2012, as a result of the strengthening of international sanctions against the country. Excluding CKD (which no longer exist in 2013), sales are actually down by only 1.1%.

Despite the loss of sales in Iran, the share of sales outside Europe of PSA increased from 34% to 41% (the target the group set was 50% in 2015). Its sales grew strongly in China (278,000 units, up by 33%), Latin America (146,000 units, up by 21%) and Maghreb countries (149,000 units, up by 20%).

The launch of the latest models was a success: Peugeot 208 (400,000 sales in a year), 301 (42,000 sales), 2008 (30,000 sales) and Citroën C-Elysee (30,000 sales). The new Citroën C4 Picasso also made a very good start.

The DS line has also confirmed its success in rising above 360,000 models sold since its launch in Europe. The market share of PSA in Europe stood at 12.2%.
