SOP of PC in Korea between 2015 and 2017
 
Carmakers in Korea are increasing the number of launches of fuel-efficient products. While the share of imported vehicles is on the rise, local carmakers are introducing models with diesel engine, DCT(Dual-Clutch Transmission) and other technology as well as strengthening their presence in the hybrid and plug-in hybrid as well as their presence in the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle sector where imported vehicles hold a significant share. In addition, models in the highly popular SUV segment are still being launched.

The Hyundai-Kia group implemented its powertrain strategy on volume-selling models. For instance, for the Sonata, the diesel and plug-in versions are planned to be added in 2015.

Kia plans to release an electric version of the K3 in 2016. The K5’s hybrid and plug-in versions are scheduled to enter the market in 2015.

GM Korea plans to release the fully-remodeled versions of the Spark and Cruze small strategic vehicles in 2015.

Renault-Samsung will launch the new SM3 in 2015, followed by the fully-remodeled SM5 and QM5 in 2016.

Ssangyong Motor intends to release the X100 a small Crossover, jointly developed with India's Mahindra & Mahindra, in 2015.
