Chery was the 21st world carmaker in 2015

Chinese automaker Chery was the 21st world carmaker in 2015, with a volume of 501,000 vehicles sold in 2015 (+ 10.3%). This volume is much lower than the scores achieved in 2010-2012, when began the decline of the influence of Chery, both at local and global levels. Its sales have gradually decreased from 610 000 units in 2010 down to 454,000 in 2014 (-34,3%), while the Chinese market at the same time increased from 18 million to 23 million units (+27,8%).

Chery sold its vehicles mainly in China (87% of sales), but in parallel developed some sales abroad, especially in Iran (32,730 sales in 2015), the United Arab Emirates (5716), Egypt (5253) , Russia (4964), Colombia (4794), Argentina (4572), Brazil (3890) and Chile (3456). Chery therefore primarily targets the markets of the Middle East and South America. Since 2014, Chery operates in partnership with Jaguar-Land Rover for which it assembles the Range Evoque at its Wuhu plant (which until then worked only at 50% capacity).

The current range of Chery consists of twenty three models which represent 60% of sales. Three top models are:
1 / SUV
Tiggo 3 (segment C). 2 / sedan Fulwin 2 (C segment) which gradually ousted the E3 sedan. 3 / minivan Karry K50
(C-segment) which is one of the most sold MPV in China.
QQ, which was once one of the best selling models in Chin accounted for only 30,000 sales in 2015.
