Russian exports remain at a very low level in 2016
- Russian exports remain at a very low level in 2016, evidence that vehicles produced in Russia are almost exclusively sold locally. Into the 803,500 vehicles produced in Russia on the 8-month period 2016 (-11.5% compared to the same period in 2015), only 18,500 were exported to other countries (i.e. 2.3% of production). For the whole of 2016, total Russian exports (excluding CKD) will not exceed 30,000 units.
- By country, Germany buys the most cars produced in Russia (3,230 units over 8 months 2016), followed by Ukraine (2,640), Egypt (2,085), Latvia (1,731 ), Uzbekistan (1,682), China (1,428), Lebanon (1,395) and Hungary (1,280).
- Autovaz is the one that exports the most cars abroad (7,731 units over 8 months 2016), ahead of Volkswagen (3,172), Hyundai (2,154), GAZ (1,644), UAZ (1,339) , GM-Autovaz (1,072), Datsun (629), Renault (238) and Nissan (101). These 9 brands exported a total of 18,080 cars over the period, accounting for 98% of all Russian car exports.
- Autovaz exports mainly to Latvia, Hungary, Egypt and Ukraine (4,674 units for these 4 countries), Volkswagen mainly exports to Germany and Ukraine (3,150 units for these two countries), Hyundai exports mainly to Egypt, Lebanon And Ukraine (1,998 units for these 3 countries).
- The LadaGranta is the most exported car, ahead of VW Vento, the Hyundai Solaris and the Chevrolet Niva.
