FCA Group Global Market Situation in 2016
- The FCA Group (Fiat, Alfa, Lancia, Maserati, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep) released its sales figures for the year 2016. Worldwide sales amount to 4.7 million vehicles, an increase of 2.2% compared with 2015 (ie 100 000 units). This increase is less than the overall global growth of car sales (+ 4.6%). The FCA group (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) remains the seventh-largest carmaker in the world, just ahead of Honda.
- The global sales of FCA group in 2016 break down as follows:
1. The United States is its first market, with 2.26 million vehicles (+ 0.6%), for 48% of its worldwide sales.
2. Europe is its second largest market, with 1.15 million vehicles (+ 13.4%), for 24% of its worldwide sales.
3. South America is its third largest market, with 460,000 vehicles (-19.4%), for 10% of its worldwide sales.
4. China is its fourth largest market, with 146,000 vehicles (+ 270%), for 3% of its worldwide sales.
- These four markets account for 85% of the global sales of the FCA Group in 2016, comprising 1.56 million Fiat vehicles, 1.37 million Jeep vehicles, 0.66 million Ram vehicles, 0.62 million Dodge vehicles , 0.31 million Chrysler vehicles and 0.18 million Alfa-Lancia-Maserati vehicles. The best-selling models of the group in 2016 are the Ram pick-up (595,000 units), Jeep Cherokee (355,000 units) and Grand Cherokee (270,000 units).
