Suzuki sold 3.43 million vehicles worldwide in 2018
Suzuki sold 3.43 million vehicles (passenger cars + light commercial vehicles) in 2018, an increase of +4.1% compared to 2017. The fourth largest Japanese manufacturer remains in tenth place worldwide, behind Fiat-Chrysler and PSA, but ahead of BMW and Daimler. These figures do not include the production of two-wheelers, where Suzuki remains a major player.

Suzuki's worldwide sales in 2018 can be broken down as follows:

1. India is its largest market, with 1.75 million vehicles, or 51% of its worldwide sales.
2. Japan is its second largest market, with 715,000 vehicles, or 21% of its worldwide sales.
3. Europe is its third largest market, with 235,000 vehicles, or 7% of its worldwide sales.

Suzuki is virtually absent from the US and Chinese markets, as Suzuki is concentrated in the A and B segments.

The three markets mentioned above add up to 79% of Suzuki's worldwide sales in 2018, which are divided into 1.75 million vehicles under the Maruti brand and 1.68 million vehicles under the Suzuki brand. It should be noted that the Indian Maruti came under Suzuki's control in 2002. Maruti still  accounts for more than half of Suzuki's sales today.

Suzuki's best-selling models in 2018 are the Swift (357,000 units), Alto (343,000 units), Wagon R (295,000 units) and Baleno (237,000 units).
